How to Create and Manage Product Variations

After defining your product's features, the next step is to manage its Variations. Variations allow you to sell different versions of the same product—such as multiple colors, sizes, or styles—all from a single product page. This makes it easier for customers to see all available options in one place. This guide will walk you through creating and managing these variations on Fyaril.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these instructions to add and edit variations for your products.

Part 1: Adding a New Variation

1. From the product editing screen, navigate to the Variations tab on the left-hand menu.
2. Click the + Add variation button located at the top right of the variations table.
3. An "Add variations" pop-up window will appear. Here, you can define the new variant based on attributes like color or size.
4. Select the attribute you want to add. For example, to add a new color, find the "Primary Color" field and select the desired color (e.g., "Dark Blue") from the dropdown list.
5. Click the Create 1 variation button at the bottom right of the pop-up.

Part 2: Editing Variation Details

1. Update SKU, Price, and Inventory

• Once the new variation is created, it will appear as a new row in the variations table.
• You can directly edit the Product SKU Number, Price, and Inventory in their respective columns for the new row.

2. Change the Variation Image

• To assign a specific image to the new variation (e.g., a photo of the dark blue product), click the three-dot menu icon (...) at the end of the variation's row.
• Select Edit from the dropdown menu. This will open the full product editor for that specific variant.
• Navigate to the Product Info tab.
• Scroll down to the Images section and upload the correct image for that variation.
• Click the Save button to apply the new image and any other changes.

2. Do I need a unique SKU for each variation?

Yes, it is essential. Every unique variation (e.g., a blue shirt in size medium) must have its own unique Product SKU Number. This allows our system to accurately track inventory and process orders for the correct item.

3. What happens if I forget to save my changes after editing a variation?

Any changes you make, such as updating an SKU, price, or image, will not be applied until you click the main "Save" button for the product. Always ensure your changes are saved to prevent discrepancies.
