How to Update Product Packaging Information

Maintaining accurate packaging information for your products is essential for ensuring smooth logistics and correct shipping cost calculations. This guide provides a quick and simple walkthrough on how to update your product packaging details—such as box dimensions, weight, and quantity—directly from your Fyaril seller dashboard. Keeping this information current helps prevent shipping errors and ensures a seamless experience for both you and your customers.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these simple steps to edit the packaging details for your individual product listings.

Part 1: Navigate to the Packaging Update Page

  1. From your seller dashboard, go to the main menu and click on Products.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select Update Listed Products.
  3. On the "Products" page, you will see a menu of update options above your product list. Click on Update Packaging Info.

Part 2: Edit the Packaging Details

  1. The page will refresh to show each of your products with its corresponding packaging information fields.
  2. Locate the product you wish to update and modify the following details as needed:
    • Items in a box: The total number of individual items in one shipping package.
    • Net Weight: The weight of the product.
    • Box Length, Box Height, Box Width: The dimensions of the final, packed shipping box.
    • Unit of Measurement: Select the correct unit, either "cm" (centimeters) or "in" (inches).
Important: The box dimensions you enter should be for the final packaged product ready for shipping, not the dimensions of the product itself. This information is used to calculate shipping fees.

Part 3: Save Your Changes

  1. After you have finished editing the packaging details for one or more products, scroll to the top-right corner of the page.
  2. Click the Save button.
  3. A notification will appear confirming that "Your changes have been saved." The system will now use this updated information for all future shipping calculations.

1. Why is it crucial to keep packaging information accurate?

Accurate packaging weight and dimensions are used by Fyaril's system and our logistics partners to automatically calculate shipping costs for customers. If this information is incorrect, it can result in incorrect shipping charges, leading to potential losses for you or overcharging your customers.

2. What is the difference between "Items in a box" and "Inventory"?

"Inventory" is the total stock quantity you have for a product. "Items in a box" refers to how many of those items are sold together as a single unit. For example, if you sell a "Set of 5 Ornaments," your "Items in a box" would be 5.

3. How can I update packaging information for more than 10 products at once?

For updating more than 10 products, the system recommends using the Update Products via File option. This allows you to download a spreadsheet of your products, make all your changes in bulk, and upload the file to apply the updates simultaneously, which is much faster for large catalogs
